An afternoon fun creative activities in the Attenborough Arts café, open for all. Let yourself be creative in a welcoming environment with old and new friends alike. Enjoy crafting, board games, chalkboard activities, and more with each week offering up new and activities that everyone can get involved with. You can also visit their free exhibitions two art galleries! Every session is free for all, with no booking required. Drop-in between 12pm and 4pm.

Mary Linwood: Art, Stitch and Life Leicester Museum & Art Gallery 13/09/2025 - 22/02/2026 Free!

Leicester’s Mary Linwood was a celebrity artist in the early 1800s but has since been largely forgotten. She created detailed embroidered versions of famous British paintings using a technique known as needle painting. Linwood was not only a talented artist but also an innovator and entrepreneur. Alongside running a successful school for young ladies in Leicester, she exhibited her embroidered works in touring exhibitions and established the first gallery in London to be run by a woman.

Hal is back with a brand-new tour for 2025 with a show that promises to stick it to ‘The Man’, as long as ‘The Man’ doesn’t stick it back to him. With his trademark hard-hitting ‘take no prisoners’ comedy (this is what Hal told me to write!!!) he will be hilariously pontificating on subjects like middle aged dating, social media, the insanity of modern politics and the fact that his daughters love him but don’t respect him.
