About Independent Leicester

Independent Leicester is a place where you can discover the best of Leicester’s independent culture.

The project is a creative collaboration between BID Leicester and a host of local independent businesses, designed help you to shop local and discover what the city’s thriving independent scene has to offer.

At the heart of the initiative is the desire to celebrate the wonderful businesses in the city and help more people discover Leicester’s hidden gems and best-kept-secrets. Working with business owners, we’ve created this online directory to pull together the best of Leicester’s independents – the little places that bring joy.

Businesses will proudly be displaying the “We’re in” logo in their windows, so it’s easy to know you are supporting an independent when you drop in.

What do we offer?

The Business Improvement District (BID) for Leicester is a business-led, not for profit organisation working to transform Leicester city centre, making it a better place to live, work, visit, study and do business. BID Leicester run several projects and initiatives to help businesses attract customers and make Leicester city centre a more attractive place.
