Find out moreThere’s going to be a commotion in the ocean at Haymarket when sea creatures visit for a free half term event. Children can meet two magical mermaids from the lost city of Atlantis, the Aquanauts Adrift, a duo of vintage deep sea divers, and Cali the larger-than-life octopus will also be at Haymarket with her good friend Captain Barnacle. Children will be able to create something for the Mission Magpie panel or make a sea creature of their own to take home at a free workshop at the event.
Vimala’s original music draws on a rich tapestry of influences: jazz and blues, African and Indian folk traditions, UK indie, and soul. Her story spans nine years living in Bangkok, where she became part of Thailand’s first rap band, followed by a year studying North Indian classical vocals in Maharashtra. Returning to England, she spent a period in reflective retreat before emerging as a striking new voice on the jazz scene, where she is now widely celebrated.
