If you’re heading out with your furry friend and wondering where you can confidently bring them along to, look no further, as there are some great Dog-Friendly Independents in Leicester who’ll welcome your pup with open arms, a fresh bowl of water and maybe even a little tasty treat or two.
Based in a historic building on Granby Street, Leicester Coffee House provides in-house roasted coffee and homemade cakes and more importantly, is home to Tommo the dog, Head of Customer Service. It’s the perfect pit-stop for a cup of coffee and something sweet, and, who knows, maybe your dog will find a new best friend in Tommo. His hidden talent is his Freddy Mercury impression, and if you’re lucky I’m sure he’ll do a verse or two.
Orso is an independent coffee shop and eatery inspired by Australia & Bali. From 10am-3:30pm they serve up deliciously fresh food with a menu that changes weekly so you’ll never get bored.
While you’re there don’t forget to say hello to Beau, their resident K-9 and head of pup-lick relations.
If you’re having a bad day Beau is a fantastic listener and will always be more than happy to hang out with you until you have cheered up.
This quaint little café is located on King Street and is a gorgeous hidden gem serving freshly baked treats from raspberry loafs, lemon cruffins to the chicest almond croissants that deserve to be posted on your Insta story.
All dogs are welcome and you can be assured that they will be treated like royalty by the fantastic staff there, as they often keep doggy treats behind the counter!
Also located on King Street you’ll find La Floret Café. Inspired by a fusion of flavours from across the world they serve a fantastic range of classics with a twist.
Make sure to pop by to try their Deluxe Avo Toast topped with scrambled eggs, homemade hummus, Tunisian Harissa paste, grilled sweet vine tomatoes, garnished with black olives, parsley and basil oil! How amazing does that sound.

Where coffee and fairy lights collide. Located in the Silver Arcade, Bryter Moon Deli have a fantastic selection of coffees, teas, craft beers and delicious food to enjoy in a gorgeous, calming environment.
No pup gets left out at Bryter Moon Deli where your 4 legged friend can enjoy a puppucino while you treat yourself to a slice of freshly baked deliciousness.

If you haven’t been to St Martin’s Coffee Shop and you live in Leicester, where have you been! Serving specialty coffee and delicious food, this dog friendly café is a must.
Located in the city’s cultural quatre you’ll find the LCB Depot, home to Grays Coffee shop & Kitchen. They are serving up fresh, seasonal, exciting food from Jerk Chicken Souls Bowls, Samosa Toasties and Beef Madras Burritos all in this gorgeous dog-friendly environment.
For our vegan furry friends Prana Café is the pawfect place to enjoy a sweet treat on a Sunny afternoon in the city. Why try their delicious 100% vegan afternoon tea or if you’re feeling a little adventurous the plant-based kebab is sure to cure those hunger cravings.
This quirky little bistro is based on Bond Street and is the ideal pitstop when you’re exploring the city with all paws.
