We may be biased but we absolutely love our Independent Leicester campaign video. Before we gush on about it, we’ll let it speak for itself. Watch it below…
So now you’ve seen it, we hope you love it too! Let us tell you a bit about the making of it…
We wanted to showcase the city’s independent businesses by showing the real people who run them. When you walk into an independent, you might be served by the person who owns the business. The person who’s passion means that the shop is there for you to walk into, the person who cares so much about whatever you’re buying that their hard work made sure it was there – right in front of you – so you can enjoy it. Isn’t that cool?
More than that, independents businesses really are the life of a city. The special little places that make a city centre feel like home.
We picked out just a few places to show what a day in the life of independents looks like, and the people who, day after day, pour their heart and soul into these businesses.
Like what you see? Here’s a list of all the places and people featured – pop in and say hi!
Stuart from Set, Gail from Leicester Coffee House, Maz from The Very Bazaar, Drew from Harriman & Co. Ltd, Bina from Moments Balloons, Yasin from HQ Studio, Cassie from Queen Victoria Arts Club, Nilesh from 23 Wine and Whiskey, Daniele from Gelato Village, Rosie from Divine Boutique and Billy from East Street Lanes. You’ll also spy tastey drinks from Tonne and The Bottle Garden, as well as a sneaky appearance from BID Leicester Director Simon!
It was hard for us to choose who to feature because there are so many great independents to choose from in the city. Want to help support these businesses, and others like them? Check out our directory of independents and support them with your custom!
If your favourite independent is missing from our directory, get in touch via our contact form and we’ll make sure they pop up as soon as possible so that everyone can know how wonderful they are.
